Thinking Outside The Box - Not Just Another CraigsList Posting!

 Hand with Bulb

For the past couple of years I have handled most of the marketing duties, but on Monday we decided that Cas would start doing our CraigsList postings.  I'm so glad that we did, I told him to knock himself out and try and think of titles that would get people to click on our listing before another...  He started emailing me the links as he was getting them posted and they are great... Better than mine!

$245000 "City Of Lakes" Home with Lake Access Needs NEW Owner!

$315,000 All The Details Covered... Nothing To Do But Play Golf!

$325000 3/2/2 DeBary Home with County Water & Sewer, MUCHO Ammenties

Love 'em. Besides I wouldn't mind moving back to Florida!!!
One thing though, I thought I read somewhere here that it was recommended that you use all your key - key words on the title of the post and then again in the beginning of the post, even if you do a postlet etc. on craigslist. So when somebody does a search (not in craigslist) your post will come up high. I always like creative things, but I switched back to the  " enter subdivision name" Highlands Ranch Homes for sale - etc. on craigslist, just for the google reasons, and sure enough when I went to check the craigslist post came up 1st. ~Rita

Debbie -

Great post.  I think your titles are great.  You know CraigsList is a powerful (and FREE) tool and more agents should use it.  The use of Postlets is also a wonderful tool and makes your listings look so much more professional than just inputing the information straight into CraigsList, etc.  Thanks for the information!

I've had great luck with Craig's List over the years.  Just had a call today from a posting last weekend and will be showing the property on Friday afternoon.  One of my postings last fall was titled "Al Gore Would Love This House". Obviously it was VERY energy efficient.

I think they're good.  Do you get many leads from Craigslist postings?

Brian & Rita- I'm sure you are right about the SEO aspect.  We posted the "traditional" listing on Monday and since you can repost every 48 hours, we are trying to see if the "fun" title gets more interest.  I appreciate your comments... I'm still just getting a handle on SEO.

Phil- Thank you...  I agree, I'm all about FREE.  CraigsList is just another way to get your name out there.  I really think postlets are a very polished way to present information.

Cindy - I love it!  I think that buyers and seller, heck... people want to know that REALTORS are real people with a pulse...  I think that being funny and offbeat is better than how many of us come across.

Clint, Yes...  The first post that I ever did resulted in a new buyer... they didn't buy that listing, but it worked out all the same.  Now that the secret weapon is writing the copy... who knows.  Try it... It's FREE.

They look interesting to me. At least they don't read the same old same old. I guess the proof will be in the results from the ads. Please post a follow up on the results.

When people are browsing around and have a lot of options, a catchy title will make you stand out.  We all should know this from activerain :)

titles do make a difference - just today I set an appointment from a craigslist that featured the shop and privacy that is so popular here - within 5 minutes 4 phone calls and one appointment - that is rocking

Thesa- I agree, we showed one of our listings with the title "I'm Beautiful Inside" over the weekend... Picked up a new buyer!  It's not all about SEO!  Sometimes it's good just to catch the eye.
