IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!
REALTORS® who want to enter properties in the Greater Orlando Regional REALTORS® Association's MLS (multiple listing service) will now be required at the time of entry to include a photo. This is a step in the right direction for real estate professionals, buyers and sellers. I wish that they had taken it a step further and required photos of the kitchen, living/great room, master bedroom and master bathroom for a total of 5 photos, but I'm pleased none the less.
I'm really disappointed in listings that only have 1 photo. I can't imagine being satisfied as a REALTOR® with providing only 1 photo of a home... how is that promoting the property? Don't they know that most buyers skip past listings without multiple photos?
If you are thinking about selling real estate in Central Florida ask your prospective REALTOR® how many photos they will be including in your MLS listing. If they say less than 10... ask the next REALTOR®.

Debbie-- I think this is great. When my manager mentioned it to me, I thought to myself, too, FINALLY! I get tired to clicking the "report Error" tab in the MLS for listings in the MLS for more than 7 days that don't AT LEAST have a front exterior picture. For those of us who have always included plenty of pictures (and in a short amount of time, too) in our MLS listings, it will be business as usual, right?! :)
I wish that our MLS required everyone to input the "main" photo when listing it! Unfortunately, there are a lot of the less-than-dilligent agents in my area that do the very least.
It helps my listings stand out though!
Thank you for sharing this!

Lisa, Good to hear that I'm not the only one who does that. I've always done the maximum photos and a virtual tour. Why have a listing if you aren't going to promote it. I think less than 10 photos is lazy and don't get me started on the poor quality of photos that agents upload, that is another post.
It makes me wonder. If an agent doesn't have enough detailed photos of a property, I usually don't show it. Not that I am trying to be difficult but there are so many to choose from when you get ready to show houses it helps you know which one your clients might be interested in. It is a disservice to sellers to not properly market their homes.
When my wife and I were looking for a house, I found it quite amazing how my wife instantly bypassed any home with only one photo. Without even bothering to see if the house would be a possible choice....she simply moved on. I found myself digging a little deeper sometimes, but it was funny listening to her go off about "HOW CAN THEY ONLY HAVE ONE PHOTO" or my personal favorite "WHY ARE THERE 7 PICTURES OF THE OUTSIDE AND NONE INSIDE??"
Can you say...NEXT!
I have to say it was nice to see Coldwell Banker kick us in the butt January 1st of 08' , as they actually took it to 6 photos for our listings or it will not show up on their national site. Very smary move in my opinion and I would not doubt if that number continues to grow in the future.
