We just took another listing as a direct result of our online presence . I'm constantly amazed when buyers and sellers contact me because they found me on the internet, sometimes they don't even know how it happened but they ended up on my blog or on my website and something the read compelled them to call me.
Whether its blogging on AR, my website blog, my listings that are syndicated to more websites than I can keep track of, it doesn't matter to me... I'm not picky. I just want them to find me.
How can anyone ignore the power of the internet and blogging?
Why aren't more REALTORS, mortgage brokers, insurance agents and other industry professionals taking advantage of this great source of business? The answers always surprise me, from waste of time to lack of writing skills. I certainly don't have any "mad skills" yet I write, re-write, cross-out and start over and over again.

Great post Debbie, I guess the reason many agents are not deep into the internet is the same reason 5% of us do 95% of the business (or there abouts) they will not do the work needed to get the job done.
We just had a agent leave our company, she was making 70% and she got leads cheap. Now she is at a company where all she has to do is show up and smile, make 50%, and pay a 35% referral fee. I asked her why she left and she said she didnt like to call people! This is not a hobby for me, this is how I feed my family.
Congrats. I agree with Carol, don't let everyone know, lol. I'm so shocked that more people don't get involved online. I feel so far behind from others in the internet community but sooo far ahead in my "real" community.
Dick- I wrote this earlier today and since then received a call from a gentleman in West Virginia. Time spent writing a post or building a website is an investment in yourself that will continue to bring new business for years to come. Keep writing... It makes a difference.
Michael - AR is such a great opportunity... More people are realizing that everyday. Congratulations on your AR contact.
Vickie- I think that almost everyone who is on AR is here to learn and grow. Your're right it is a great way to drive traffic to your posts and build your business.
Larry - Wow, Just today I've called people from around the state and all the way to the UK. I talk a lot! I even call people and ask them to do things they don't want to do, like lower their house price. Its just what we do.
Lisa - Congratulations on the refferal, I can't imagine my life without blogging. It is really beginning to be part of who I am. I think that buyers and sellers realize after reading your blog that you are a "person" and that you care about your customers, they know you before they ever meet you and it makes business some much more pleasurable.
Carol - There are a lot of people that know what we are doing here, but will never do it. That is there loss... OK OK, I won't tell anyone.
Brittany - They don't see the value, they probably never will.
Bob - I've been playing around with the outside blog for 6 months and have really committed myself with maintaining both. I've had great SEO success locally with my personal blog and will continue to write as much as I can. It is close to midnight and you would laugh if you saw me propped up in my bed with my Tablet PC. I have the keyboard on my lap and the monitor is laying next to me. I can only sit at the desk for so long and then I have to get comfortable.
Thank you all for reading and commenting. I will be stopping by your blogs for a read tomorrow.
