HOT OFF THE PARADE OF HOMES ROUTE: I Want That!

under counter microwave drawer

We've been out hitting the parade route...

2008 Orlando Parade of HomesApril 6 - 20, 2008

I've seen some amazing homes and as a self proclaimed "house junkie" it really helps me get my fix...  I saw something yesterday that I hadn't seen before.  Sharp has come out with a under counter microwave drawer.  Oh my...  I want that.  I have the Fisher Paykel double dishwasher drawer and I love it...

The microwave drawer is so convenient and since I like the kitchen to be more streamlined and "clean" I believe that it is a new alternative to the above the range or "double" wall oven.

Do you want one too?

Pretty neat idea.  I guess you loose a little base cabinet space but you make up for it with the space the "average microwave goes" .  I could see one of those in my kitchen.

I was touring a home today that had an under counter Steamer microwave for doing crab legs, lobster, etc

I also saw a new product from Koehler....remember the old deep wells in the range tops.   Koehler, now has a pasta cooking pot that you fill at the pot, which is mounted in the counter top.   This pot has a drain (like a sink, under the pot) and you can use this same pasta cooker with a different pot for soups, pinto beans, etc.   Really cool products.

DEBBIE, I want that drawer microwave.  We redid our kitchen last year.  Got rid of the built in microwave because we did the commercial stove and had to put the big vent fan in.  I have been with a small microwave on the counter and want one of these.  I just love this kind of stuff.  We have been remodeling our home bit by bit.  I have some pretty fun stuff, but not that microwave!!

Audrey...  I spent 15 minutes checking out the microwave... My husband had to remind me several times that our kitchen was completely remodeled less than a year ago and that I have the super cool double drawer dishwasher...  but, it was awesome.  I want it too.

That under counter microwave drawer will probably soon be a must have for most new kitchens everywhere. I want one too.

That's pretty cute alright.  I'd like to have a propane oven that size, for the small meals, instead of using a great big oven.

Interesting, but with a three year old, I just see Barbie being nuked! But, I guess I would have to see it before I judge it.

Todd - I hadn't thought about the risk of "three mile island" Barbie...  I'll have to see if there is some type of locking featuring...
