I know, everyone thought I was going to the beach or Disney next... but, I had to make a quick stop at Kennedy Space Center.
Goose Bumps... That's what you get when you watch the Space Shuttle launch at Kennedy Space Center. I've been inside the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) and been up close to the Shuttle and it's simply amazing. A real life Space Ship encounter right here in Central Florida.
There is always a feeling of excitement on launch day as you can see the glow of the engine thrusters all the way to Orlando. I'll never forget the the day I was with a young couple looking at homes in Avalon Park and we were looking at the pool in the backyard when a few of the neighbors ran out of their homes to watch the shuttle launch. It never gets old...

It's probably uncool to comment on yourself, but my husband said I just confirmed what he's suspected for a long time... He married a NERD. That's ok - I'm Nerdy and I'm proud!
Debbie, I'm jealous, we have always wanted to see it take off. My husband works for an airline so we could easily get there but then you have to worry about delays. Now I did get to see it go over at night one time years ago. It was soooooooooooooo cool. It was this incredible line of light. I kept looking for it thinking it was this little speck and then when it appeared all I can say is WOW. Maybe someday I will get to see it again. They tend to land so late that I have missed all the night landings since.
Debbie:
Have you ever gone to see the launch of the shuttle?
I would think the ground shakes.

This is too cool! NASA/Johnson Space Center is located in Texas and we always enjoy visiting. If I am ever in Florida I will have to check this out!
I was never impressed with kennedy space center but I guess I only went there when I was in the IT field for training classes. But I will say watching shuttle launches from your back yard is pretty freakin amazing and something very few places get to witness.
Debbie it sure must be cool watching a take off! I can see why it would give you goose bumps!
