Lake Mary - Central Florida Real Estate : Why I Love Living in the Orlando Area: #3 The Beaches

Why I Love Living in the Orlando Area: #3 The Beaches

Yes, you're right, Orlando is not on the coastline - I noticed.  But, in less than an hour you can be on my favorite Florida BeachFlorida beaches in your chair soaking up the sun and listening to the waves crashing on the shore.  The best of both worlds, yes... you just might be onto something.

My Top Five Florida Beaches

  1. New Smyrna Beach
  2. Panama City Beach
  3. St. Augustine Beach
  4. Boca Grande/Sanibel Island
  5. Islamorada/The Florida Keys

The sand and the surf are two of the reasons that I moved to Florida over 20 years ago.

Debbie...

I also moved to Florida for the beaches and the weather. I hope to retire in The Keys. Wish me luck with that :)

Hi Debbie

Orlando is a great place to live and enjoy the sun, the sand and the beach.

Good luck and success

Hi Debbie, the beaches are why we are here!  Even though not on the top five, Cocoa Beach is awesome and rich with history.  Florida beaches are great!

Ok, today it got up to 31 degrees here.  I'm tired of winter.  Then I see this beautiful photo of the Florida beaches.  How I miss that!  I can't wait for summer.

The beaches here are so fabulous.  They are the true gem of Florida.  My family and I were fortunate enough to stay in a condo in New Smyrna Beach for an entire month during summer 2007.  I can tell you first hand that you can get real comfortable in a place like that.

I admit it...I am jealous of where you live:) I would love to live near the beach myself. I am sick of Winter (:

In a battle of one-upsmanship, the ol' "we have beaches" tends to win the battle of tourism treats.

TLW - I also love The Keys - I know you'll get there.

Denise - I should have done a top 10... Cocoa Beach is in there, I lived there for 2 years when I first came to Florida in the mid 80's...  Everyone always wants to visit Ron Jon's Surf Shop.

Rob - We have several friends with second homes and condos over there, I'm envious and grateful at the same time.  It's wonderful to get to stay at the beach.

Thank you everyone for the comments...  I'll work on sending some Florida Sunshine your way.

I do love Palm beach but the west coast beaches are so much nicer. . . good call on Sanibel.  Definitely a top 5.

Hello Debbie~ I have to tell you that I would move for the sand, surf and the water in a heartbeat!  You are so blessed to be living there!  I DREAM about living at the beach all of the time!

There's something about the beach that is just so soothing - and that's gotta be good for everyone.  It's hard not to have a good time at the beach.
